Having the ability to travel the world has opened my eyes to the needs of providing quality education for all. With 38 years of teaching and leadership experience, I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills in the USA, UK, Middle East, and Asia. I hold teaching licenses in IB, American and British curriculums at the Primary, Secondary and Educational Needs levels.
My philosophy of Education is to establish a balanced curriculum that captures my students’ life experiences. I want to captivate their desire to learn and build a strong desire to develop their ideas for becoming responsible citizens in the world around them. Using adaptation, improvisation, and demonstration as instructional methods enables me to establish understanding within many cultures and academic levels.
With my “Go-To” attitude, I am often involved in community or charity action projects worldwide. As in the words of Albert Pike, What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.
Besides filling my spare time with baking, gardening and forgotten crafts, I am an active member of the Scottish Bee Society. Using my 12 Honey Bee hives and a garden allotment for Kitchen Sciences (Seed to Plate project), I run Environmental Learning Centers for school groups and the public.
I am a seasoned International educator with experiences in both secondary and primary academic levels. I have held posts in Leadership for 10 years in various countries and decided to retire to the classroom for Personal Development towards my doctorate.
