Thalun International School offers an American-style university preparatory
curriculum guided by AERO standards, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
This strong academic foundation has contributed to impressive NWEA MAP and SAT
scores, reflecting the dedication and success of Thalun’s students. Established in
2016, Thalun is one of the eight international schools in Myanmar accredited by the
Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The school day runs from
8:30 am to 3:15 pm, followed by a free After School Activities (ASA) program from
3:20 pm to 4:20 pm, which provides a variety of extracurricular experiences. The
curriculum covers nine core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies,
Physical Education (PE) and PSHE for high school students, Art, Music, Information
and Communication Technology (ICT), and Language Studies. Students also have
the opportunity to study Mandarin Chinese once a week and Myanmar four times a
